IT’S FINALLY SUMMER BREAKKKKKKK!! I just finished up my junior year at Ball State University! Here is how I’ve prepped/will prep for summer!!
If you’ve saved up money and want to go on a trip this summer – MAKE THOSE PLANS! If you work over the summer, this gives you time to ask for time off and budget how much money to keep saving. Planning trips builds the excitement and allows you to put more thought into them beforehand. The trip this summer that I am most excited for is my best friends bachelorette in South Carolina! WOOT WOOT!!
Here are some trip ideas if you want to do something, but don’t know what: Visit your college friends in their hometowns, go on a roadtrip out of state, visit somewhere on your bucket list/Pinterest board, or take a trip with your family. The trip ideas are endlessssssss!
Cleaning your room after the school year is over can be so refreshing. If you already did your spring cleaning, then tidying up for summer is even easier. I however did not do any spring cleaning, so I like to tackle SUMMER CLEANING so the first thing I’m doing is going through my room and grabbing everything I don’t need anymore, burnt out candles, and anything that can be thrown away or donated out of my room. I like organizing all of my summer essentials so they’re more displayed in my room and easy to grab!! I also like switching out old holiday decorations with new colorful ones and putting all of my school items in my backpack for the fall semester!
My favorite part about prepping for summer is the SUMMER WARDROBE!! I pull out all my old summer clothes and decide what I want to have for this summer. I also think about if there is anything new I’ll need for this summer such as bathing suits or new shorts! I love when I can open up my closet and everything I’ll want is right there and I don’t have to dig through all of my clothes. I also like doing this with my dresser. I go through all my items from the winter I don’t want out anymore and bring forward my summer clothes! I also gather all of my summer accessories in a place that is easier to access!
Personally, it is so hard for me to keep a daily routine during the school year because every day can be different between classes, projects, jobs, and school organizations. So in the summer I love to MAKE A DAILY ROUTINE. I do have two jobs this summer in my college town and will be visiting my hometown often, so not every day will look the same. But, I want to have a solid morning and night routine! I like the idea of having a checklist in my mind of the steps I want to get done in a day! Here are my example daily routines for the summer!
Morning: Wake up at 730am, drink a glass of water, face cleansing routine, get ready for the day, some sort of breakfast, make a todo list!!
Night: face cleansing routine, prep an outfit for the next day, have an idea if I have work the next day, read before bed!!
Every daily routine is going to look different, but I believe having consistency in each day will help you create positive daily habits and better promote self care!
This is how I’ll be prepping for summer this week!! Get PUMPED for warm weather in the midwest – this means tanning, pool days, iced drinks, and a sunny wardrobe!
